1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Ecmabox ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Ecmabox is a personal journaling application for iOS that provides:

Daily writing prompts and letter creation
Photo, audio, and video attachments
Timeline and calendar views of your letters
Echo replies and Future Self chat (locally generated)
Resonance Garden, achievements, and annual review statistics
Optional Stamp Store with in-app purchases

All letter content and account data are stored locally on your device unless you delete them.

3. Accounts

Quick Login

The App uses Quick Login to generate local credentials stored on your device. There is no cloud account registration. You are responsible for keeping your device secure.

Logout

Logout ends your local session. Your data remains on the device.

Delete Account

You may delete your account from Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your local account data, letters, media, chat history, stamps, and preferences from the device. This action is irreversible.

4. Virtual Currency and In-App Purchases

Stamps

Stamps are virtual currency used within the App (e.g., redeeming optional themes). Stamps have no real-world monetary value outside the App and are non-transferable.

Purchases

The App offers Stamp packs via Apple In-App Purchase. Available products include com.ecmabox.p1 through com.ecmabox.p8 at prices shown in the Store. All purchases are processed by Apple Inc. We do not store payment information.

Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.

Bonus redemptions

You may spend stamps on optional in-app items (e.g., Echo theme). Redemptions are final and stored locally.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disrupt the App
Use the App to harass, threaten, or harm others
Upload or create content that infringes others' intellectual property rights

You are solely responsible for the content you create in the App.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, echo text pools, and branding, is owned by the developer. Your letters and media remain yours. By using the App, you grant no license to us over your personal content because we do not access or host it on remote servers.

7. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Echo replies and Future Self chat responses are generated locally from predefined templates for reflection and encouragement. They are not professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or therapeutic). Do not rely on them as a substitute for professional help.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Local data may be lost if your device is damaged, lost, or reset without backup.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it or deleting your account. We may discontinue or modify the App at any time without notice.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will reflect changes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws apply.
